This veterans' memorial honors the brave North Dakotans who fought and died for our country, and highlights the Congressional Medal of Honor winners from our state. There are 19 Medal of Honor recipients listed here, one served in the Marine Corps, two served in the Navy, and 16 served in the Army.

Private Willis H. Downs, who earned the Medal of Honor for actions taken during the Philippine Insurrection is buried north of Fort Seward at the Highland Home Cemetery here in Jamestown.
